Where to Eat in Kato Paphos, Cyprus

Jane and I have been holidaying in Paphos since 1996. And we frequently get asked where are the best places to eat, so to save us having to hand scribble another map, we have collect cards from all those we have deemed worthy of recommendation and created our own simple guide. I should point out that they are obviously our personal favourites and may not appeal to everyone's taste, or wallet!

The quality of the restaurants has changed quite dramatically in 2009 as the Euro exchange rate and the "economy" bites but these are the best and most consistent that have served us well over the years.

  1. Michael's Tavern - A tradtional Cypriot restaurant run by a fantastic family and they have never failed us in all of the years we have eaten with them, p.s. the roast potatoes are fantastic

  2. Colosseum - An Italian restaurant which produces excellent food, with a great wine list, and with frequent entertainment, i.e. Elton John and ABBA

  3. Apomero - Another traditional Cypriot restaurant which produces a fine Meze, although starving yourself beforehand is recommended.

  4. The Six Bells - Louis and Dimitris have been looking after our drinking needs since we first holidayed in Paphos and it is their personalities which makes an evening drinking with them different to all the other bars.

  5. DeVinci - They produce some great pizza which is great to share for a lunchtime snack.
  6. Imperial Chinese - There are many Chinese restaurants in Paphos but Imperial produces consistently good food with polite service, the only thing to watch out for is that the service can be too quick so I would recommend asking for 5 minutes inbetween the starter and main course.
